Timken announces specialty steel price increase

Timken Latrobe Steel announced it would increase its prices on all remelted aerospace alloys by three to eight percent. The prices will go into effect on all order place on or after December 1. The raw materials surcharge will remain in effect. Timken-Latrobe president Hans J. Sack said the increase is necessary to offset "the increasing operational costs that we are experiencing throughout our entire manufacturing process." Timken Latrobe Steel, a subsidiary of Canton, Ohio-based The Timken Company is a leading specialty steel producer in North America.
