Indian steelmaker Tata Steel Limited achieved crude steel production of 23.48 million mt from its Indian operations in the fiscal year 2025-26, its highest-ever annual output with a rise of eight percent year on year, according to a company statement on Tuesday, April 7.
During the fourth quarter (January-March) of 2025-26, crude steel production was reported at 6.25 million mt, a rise of 14.9 percent year on year, the company said.
Its steel sales from its Indian operations during the fiscal year amounted to 22.53 million mt, up around eight percent year on year, in line with the increase in crude steel production.
In the UK, the company continued to serve customers through downstream processing of purchased substrate. During 2025-26, sales were around 2.2 million mt, while work on the 3 million mt electric arc furnace at Port Talbot was progressing, the statement said.
Tata Steel Netherlands achieved liquid steel production of 6.7 million mt and sales of 6.1 million mt in the fiscal year, the statement said.
