Taiwan's iron and steel export value down 8.4 percent in Q1

In March this year, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports decreased by 10.3 percent year on year and was up 26.1 percent compared to February to $1.43 billion, according to the preliminary statistics issued by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance. In the given month, the country's iron and steel import value totaled $930 million, down 8.3 percent year on year and rising 36.4 percent month on month.
 
In the first three months of 2015, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports was down 8.4 percent to $4.07 billion, while the value of the country's imports of iron and steel totaled $2.6 billion, down 1.8 percent, both on year-on year basis.
