In December last year, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports fell by 12.8 percent year on year to $1.37 billion, according to the preliminary statistics issued by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance. In the given month, the country's iron and steel import value totaled $785 million, down 18 percent year on year.
In the full year of 2019, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports declined by 12.7 percent to $16.6 billion, while the value of the country's imports of iron and steel totaled $9.62 billion, decreasing by 13.1 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
