Taiwan’s CSC posts lower operating revenues for Q1

Taiwan’s largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in March this year its carbon steel sales volume totaled 691,344 metric tons, while in the January-March period its carbon steel sales volume amounted to 1.91 million mt.

In March, CSC’s operating revenues amounted to NTD 33.85 billion ($1.1 billion), up by 8.3 percent month on month. In the given month, the company’s operating income totaled NTD 937.6 million ($30.53 million), compared to a NTD 67.51 million income recorded in the previous month.

In the January-March period this year, CSC’s operating revenues amounted to NTD 91.34 billion ($2.97 billion), decreasing by 20.7 percent year on year. In the given period, the company’s operating loss totaled NTD 26.03 million ($847,772), compared to a NTD 13.47 billion operating income recorded in the same period last year.
