Taiwan’s CSC posts lower operating revenues for Jan-Feb

Taiwan’s largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in February this year its carbon steel sales volume totaled 667,207 metric tons, while in the January-February period its carbon steel sales volume amounted to 1.21 million mt.

In February, CSC’s operating revenues amounted to NTD 31.25 billion ($1.23 billion), up by 19.0 percent month on month. In the given month, the company’s operating income totaled NTD 67.51 million ($2.22 million), compared to a NTD 1.03 billion loss recorded in the previous month.

In the January-February period this year, CSC’s operating revenues amounted to NTD 57.49 billion ($1.89 billion), decreasing by 21.8 percent year on year. In the given period, the company’s operating loss totaled NTD 963.63 million ($31.75 million), compared to a NTD 9.42 billion income recorded in the same period last year.
