Taiwan’s CSC posts lower operating revenues and income for Jan-Apr

Taiwan’s largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in April this year its carbon steel sales volume totaled 685,588 metric tons, while in the January-April period its carbon steel sales volume amounted to 2.59 million mt.

In April, CSC’s operating revenues amounted to NTD 32.38 billion ($1.05 billion), down by 4.3 percent month on month. In the given month, the company’s operating income totaled NTD 787.77 million ($25.72 million), compared to a NTD 937.6 million income recorded in the previous month.

In the January-April period this year, CSC’s operating revenues amounted to NTD 123.72 billion ($4.04 billion), decreasing by 22.9 percent year on year. In the given period, the company’s operating income totaled NTD 761.74 million ($24.86 million), compared to a NTD 18.06 billion operating income recorded in the same period last year.
