Stoppage of production seems permanent in Makeevka

Makeevka mill of Ukraine is heading towards permanent closure. The mill had stopped production of wire rods and bars by late July, and is not expected to resume due to severe financial trouble, SteelOrbis is told. It is also understood that; even if the mill management decides to resume production serious technical problems with the reheating of the blast furnaces will be inevitable. There are also speculations in the market that certain people might be pushing the mill towards bankruptcy in order to be able to take over the mill at a lower cost.
