South Korean steel producer SeAH Steel announced on July 28 that it plans to introduce JCOE pipe producing facilities.
According to the company, it will invest about KRW 87 billion, which is equivalent to 13 percent of its equity capital, in the introduction of JCOE pipe facilities, to produce new products that could meet the fast-growing demand for API steel pipes in the global market.
SeAH Steel said earlier in April that it was considering introducing JCOE facilities that will be capable of producing 200,000-300,000 mt of heavy wall steel pipes with thickness of 50 mm, external diameter of 64 inches and length of 10 meters, together with expanders of steel pipes that adjust the roundness of the pipes using hydraulic power for its possible supply of them to large-size projects for energy development in Central and South America.
