On July 13, Austria-based plantmaker Siemens VAI Metals Technologies announced that it has received orders from the Russian mining and steel producing company Evraz Group to supply two long product rolling mills for two of Evraz's new production facilities.

The Evraz plant to be installed in the southern Russian town of Ust-Donetsk in the Rostov region will have a designed capacity of 315,000 mt of bars and 135,000 mt of angles and channels per year. On the other hand, a rolling line with an annual capacity of 450,000 mt of rebars will be built in Kostanay, Kazakhstan.

The combined order value amounts to a mid-range double-digit million euro figure. The two plants are scheduled to start production in 2013.
