Guizhou Province-based Chinese steelmaker Shougang Shuicheng Iron and Steel (Group) Co., Ltd has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with one of China's leading producers of wire and wire rope, namely, Guizhou Wire Rope Incorporated Company.
According to the cooperation agreement, Shougang Shuicheng Iron and Steel will supply finished steel to Guizhou Wire Rope Inc., while the latter company will supply wire rope to the former. The agreement will cover three years, from January 1, 2011 to Dec 31, 2013.
Guizhou Wire Rope Inc. Co. produces wire ropes in diameters of 0.6-110 mm and wires in diameters of 1.5-7.0 mm. It is the only company in China which can produce wire rope in diameters of over 65 mm.
Shougang Shuicheng Iron&Steel (Group) Co., Ltd, established in 1966, is an integrated steelmaking company with business interests in mining, metallurgy, coking, machining, transportation, and the import and export trade. It has an annual output capacity of 2.8 million mt of pig iron, 3 million mt of crude steel, 3 million mt of finished steel. Its steel products mainly consist of construction steel.
