Severstal Cherepovets to install purification systems at electro-smelting workshop

Severstal Cherepovets, the main steel producing facility of Severstal Russian Steel, is to commence the main stage of reconstruction work at its electro-smelting workshop, which includes the installation of gas purification systems, directed towards the reduction of dust emissions in the atmosphere to 50 mg/ m³, and the increase of equipment safety during working operations.

Within the framework of the project, which costs a total of Ruble 130 million (approx. $4.9 million), Severstal Cherepovets is to install 3,500 bag filters at its shaft furnace No. 2 and at its ladle furnace No. 2. When installing the final filters, operations at the units in question are to be stopped.
