In the January-November period of the current year, the leading Russian metallurgical companies increased their steel production volumes, according to Russian media sources.
In particular, Nizhniy Tagil Iron and Steel Works (NTMK) produced 3.582 million mt of rolled steel (up 7.5 percent year on year), Russia's West Siberian Iron and Steel Plant (Zapsib, a subsidiary of Evraz) produced 6.308 million mt (up 18.3 percent), Cherepovets Steel Mill (a subsidiary of Severstal) produced 9.541 million mt (up 2.4 percent), MMK produced 9.814 million mt (up three percent), and NLMK produced 8.347 million mt (up 4.7 percent) - all comparisons are on year-on-year basis. Meanwhile, Oskol Metallurgical Plant (OEMK) and Ural Steel, subsidiaries of the Russian iron ore and steel producing company Metalloinvest, saw decreases in their steel outputs due to repairs of equipment.
