Russia’s Kuzbassrazrezugol issues Jan-Aug operational results

Russian coal mining company Kuzbassrazrezugol, a subsidiary of Russian Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC), has issued its operational results for August and for the first eight months of 2009.

Accordingly, in August Kuzbassrazrezugol fulfilled its production plan for the month at the rate of 100.1 percent, producing 4.207 million of coal, including 318,000 mt of coking coal. Meanwhile, from the beginning of the current year up to the end of August, Kuzbassrazrezugol's coal output amounted to 30.104 million mt - down 7.8 percent year on year, including 1.672 million mt of coking coal - down about 54 percent year on year.

In January-August this year, Kuzbassrazrezugol's deliveries of coking coal amounted to 1.878 million mt - down 47.6 percent compared to the same period last year.

In 2009, Kuzbassrazrezugol plans to produce a total of 46 million mt of coal, including 1.998 million mt of coking coal.
