Rebar costs increase nearly 20 percent in greater Buenos Aires area in May

Rebar costs in the greater Buenos Aires area in May increased 19.1 percent, month-on-month, according to data released by the country’s statistics agency, Indec.

Indec said rebar was the product whose cost increased the most in May, on a month-on-month basis, within the general expenses category.

According to Indec, cost of civil construction in Buenos Aires in May grew 2.7 percent, month-on-month. Cost of materials and workforce in May improved 6.2 and 0.7 percent, month-on-month, while general expenses in the greater Buenos Aires area increased 2.2 percent in the same period.
