Rebar and civil construction costs increase in greater Buenos Aires area in October

Both the cost of civil construction and rebar in the greater Buenos Aires area rose in October, according to data released by the nation’s institute of statistics and census, Indec.

According to Indec, cost of civil construction in the greater Buenos Aires area in October rose 24.3 percent, year-on-year, and 0.7 percent, month-on-month. Cost of materials, workforce and general expenses in the same month improved by 21.5, 26.3 and 23.7 percent, respectively in the year-on-year analysis, and by 1.2, 0.1 and 2.4 percent in the month-on-month comparison.

Rebar was among the main products that had its cost increased in the general expenses category, according to Indec. Rebar costs rose 2.2 percent in October, month-on-month, and 15.7 percent, year-on-year.
