Raspadskaya’s coal output up 38% in Q2 from Q1

Raspadskaya Coal Company (Raspadskaya), one of the largest coking coal producers in Russia, has announced that in the second quarter this year its raw coal production volume increased by 38 percent compared to the first quarter of this year to 2.569 million mt.

In the given period, concentrate sales increased by 54 percent to 1.657 million mt, while hard coking coal sales rose by 28 percent to 334,000 mt, quarter on quarter.

During the second quarter, according to Raspadskaya's statement, export sales volumes of coal concentrate increased by 91.5 percent to 877,000 mt due to increased shipments to the Asia-Pacific region, while domestic sales of coking coal concentrate went up by 26 percent to 780,000 mt due to the increase in shipments to large Russian metallurgical companies, on quarter-on-quarter basis.
