Raspadskaya’s coal output exceeds 11 million mt in 2017

Raspadskaya Coal Company (Raspadskaya), one of the largest coking coal producers in Russia, has announced that in the fourth quarter last year its raw coal production volume increased by 11 percent compared to the third quarter of the year to 2.87 million mt, while in the full year of 2017 its raw coal production volume rose nine percent year on year to 11.43 million mt.

In the fourth quarter, concentrate sales increased by two percent quarter on quarter to 1.78 million mt, while in 2017 the company’s concentrate sales increased by 11 percent year on year to 6.88 million mt.

According to Raspadskaya's statement, in the fourth quarter its export sales volumes of coking coal concentrate increased by three percent to 1.21 million mt, while domestic sales of coking coal concentrate rose by one percent to 562,000 mt, both on quarter-on-quarter basis. Meanwhile, in 2017 the company’s export sales volumes of coking coal concentrate totaled 4.53 million mt, rising by 25 percent, and domestic sales of coking coal concentrate fell by eight percent to 2.35 million mt, both compared to the previous year.

Sergey Stepanov, CEO of Raspadskaya, stated that the company has made a steady progress in the implementation of its strategic development plan and efficiency program and as a result it exceeded 11 million mt of annual raw coal production for the first time.
