Raspadskaya Coal Company (Raspadskaya), one of the largest coking coal producers in Russia, has announced that in the first quarter this year its raw coal production volume increased by 51 percent year on year to 2.8 million mt, due to successful completion of Raspadskaya mine's restoration program in the fourth quarter of 2014.

In the first quarter, coking coal concentrate sales decreased by five percent to 1.66 million mt, including domestic sales of 693,000 mt, down 18.4 percent, both quarter on quarter, due to higher intra-group shipments by Russian largest steel producers.

During the first quarter, according to Raspadskaya's statement, export sales volumes of coal concentrate more than doubled to 969,000 mt compared to the same quarter of the previous year. The significant increase in the export sales was due to higher production volumes.
