Raspadskaya’s coal output up one percent in 2015

Raspadskaya Coal Company (Raspadskaya), one of the largest coking coal producers in Russia, has announced that in the fourth quarter last year its raw coal production volume decreased by six percent compared to the third quarter of the year to 2.55 million mt, while in the full year of 2015 its raw coal production volume rose one percent year on year to 10.35 million mt.
 
In the fourth quarter, concentrate sales decreased by 18 percent to 1.4 million mt amid lower demand in Russia and difficulties in delivering to Ukraine, while hard coking coal sales declined by 57 percent to 211,000 mt, both quarter on quarter. In 2015, the company’s concentrate sales increased by seven percent to 6.45 million mt, while its hard coking coal sales declined by four percent to 993,000 mt, both year on year.
 
According to Raspadskaya's statement, in the fourth quarter its export sales volumes of coal concentrate decreased by four percent to 951,000 mt, while domestic sales of coking coal concentrate declined by 38 percent to 450,000 mt, both on quarter-on-quarter basis. Meanwhile, in 2015 the company’s export sales volumes of coal concentrate increased by 19 percent to 3.63 million mt, and domestic sales of coking coal concentrate decreased by five percent to 2.81 million mt, both compared to the previous year.
