Raspadskaya opens new coalface

Raspadskaya Coal Company (Raspadskaya), one of the largest coking coal producers in Russia, has announced that a new coalface at its Raspadskaya underground mine was put into operation as a part of a program to increase coal production.
 
With reserves of 428,000 mt, the new coalface is expected to produce 88,000 mt of coal per month with a planned lifetime of 4-5 months.
 
The Raspadskaya underground mine currently operates on three longwalls. The fourth longwall is planned to be launched in August this year.
