Primetals to supply continuous pickling line for Shougang Jingtang

UK-based plantmaker Primetals Technologies has announced that the Chinese steel producer Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. (Shougang Jingtang) has placed an order for a continuous pickling line (CPL). According to Primetals, the pickling line will process ultra-high strength steel (UHSS) grades for value-added products to be used in automotive, bus and truck production, and for all heavy industrial applications, with a capacity of 1.5 million mt per year. Startup is planned for late 2019.

Shougang Jingtang is part of the leading Chinese steelmaker Shougang Group, with a production amounting to 27.6 million mt of steel in 2017. The company operates a number of CPLs, continuous annealing and continuous galvanizing lines, processing the complete range of carbon steel.
