Peruvian iron ore export prices increase in July

Peruvian iron ore export prices in July rose 139.1 percent, year-on-year, to $83.7/mt FOB, according to the local central bank (BCRP).

Government data indicated Peruvian iron ore export prices in July declined from $84.7/mt FOB in June, but still represent the second highest level thus far in the year.

Peruvian iron ore export volume in July was 1.3 million mt, up from 1.1 million mt in July 2018, and from 900,000 mt in June this year.

Peruvian iron ore export prices have been on an increasing trend since April this year, when the commodity’s export price reached $48/mt FOB. The commodity export price peak was reached in June at $84.7/mt FOB.
