Pakistan’s scrap imports down 36.2% in April from March

Pakistan’s scrap imports amounted to 86,982 mt in April this year, dropping by 36.2 percent compared to March and by 72.3 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in the given month was $50.84 million, down by 34.5 percent month on month and by 71.4 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s iron and steel imports in April amounted to 116,059 mt, falling by 47.0 percent on year-on-year basis and by 27.4 percent compared to the previous month. In the given month, the value of Pakistan’s iron and steel imports was $92.12 million, moving down by 51.7 percent year on year and by 22.8 percent month on month.
