Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports down 2.1 percent in December

Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports amounted to 376,500 mt in December last year, increasing by 22.1 percent compared to November and down 2.1 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in December was $100.66 million, rising by 22 percent month on month and down 1.8 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, Pakistan's iron and steel imports in December amounted to 251,621 mt, down 19.2 percent on month-on-month basis and rising by 3.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In December, the value of Pakistan's iron and steel imports was $158.6 million, decreasing by 18.2 percent month on month and down 2.6 percent year on year.
