NSSMC integrates bar and wire processing operations in Thailand

Japanese steelmaker Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) has announced that it is integrating its bar and wire processing companies in Thailand, namely, Steel Processing (Thailand) Company Limited (SP) and Nippon Steel Bar & CH Wire (Thailand) Company Limited (NBC Thai). The integration is scheduled to be completed in January 2013.
 
The integrated company will produce high-quality steel bar and wire with an annual production capacity of 84,000 mt of steel wire for cold heading and cold forging and 18,000 mt of cold finished steel bars.
 
The company to be named Nippon Steel & Sumikin Steel Processing (Thailand) Company Limited will be the largest Japanese affiliated bar and wire processing company based in Southeast Asia.
