NMDC’s iron ore output up 11.6 percent in June quarter

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in the first quarter ended June 30 of the financial year 2017-18 it produced 8.52 million mt of iron ore, registering an increase of 11.6 percent compared to the same period of the financial year 2016-17. The company's iron ore sales in the June quarter this year amounted to 9.21 million mt, up 18.5 percent year on year.

During the first quarter this year, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 3.01 million mt, rising by 8.27 percent, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines increased by 13.6 percent to 5.51 million mt, both year on year.
