NMDC’s iron ore output reaches 2.98 million mt in April

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in April, the first month of the financial year 2017-18, it produced 2.98 million mt of iron ore, increasing by 35.4 percent, while its iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 3.56 million mt, up 39.6 percent, both year on year. 
 
During the given month, NMDC's iron ore output and sales from its Karnataka mines amounted to one million mt and 1.39 million mt, respectively, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines totaled 1.98 million mt and its sales from the Chhattisgarh mines reached 2.17 million mt.
