India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in December last year it produced 3.1 million mt of iron ore, registering a decrease of eight percent year on year. The company's iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 2.84 million mt, falling by twelve percent year on year.
In 2018, NMDC produced 21.87 million mt of iron ore, decreasing by 9.7 percent compared to 2017. Its iron ore sales in the same year amounted to 22.14 million mt, declining by 13.6 percent year on year.
In 2018, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 7.27 million mt, down 19.8 percent, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines decreased by 3.6 percent to 14.6 million mt, both year on year.
