NMDC to outsource sinter plant operation and maintenance of its greenfield steel mill

Taking forward its plans to operate its upcoming 3 million mt per year greenfield steel mill through an outsourced model, Indian state-run NMDC Limited will seek bids for operation and maintenance of its sinter plant, a company source said on Monday, November 26.

The source said that initially a contractor will be sought for operation and maintenance of its sinter plant at its steel mill in Chhattisgarh state, for an initial period of three years.

At present, installation of equipment at the sinter plant is in an advanced stage with the steel mill scheduled to commence trial production around March 2019.

Along a similar line, NMDC will also be seeking bidders for outsourcing raw material handling systems of the steel mill for a period of two years, the official added.
