Nippon Steel hikes sales price of wire rods

Japanese steel producer Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC) will reportedly increase sales prices of special wire rods by Yen 10'000 ($93) per ton and wire rods by Yen 20'000 ($187) per ton effective for shipments as of January 1, 2004. According to the statement made by the company, the prices will be increased due to expected increase in raw material prices. This is the second time company increases the price of special wire rods this year. The first increase was effected in April, which was again by Yen 10'000 per ton.
