Mexican domestic auto sales decline in June while production increases

Mexican domestic sales of autos in June dropped 6 percent, year-on-year, to 119,713 units, according to Amia, the nation’s automotive industry association. However, Mexican vehicle production in June reached 349,153 units, 0.8 percent up, year-on-year.

Amia said domestic auto sales in the first half of the year (H1) reached 680,699 units, 8.4 percent down, year-on-year. On the other hand, Mexican auto production in the six-month period slightly increased 0.7 percent, year-on-year, to 1.95 million units.
