Mexican auto production increases in February

Mexican auto production in February rose 4.4 percent, year-on-year, to 326,183 units, according to local automotive industry association, AMIA.

Domestic sales of vehicles in February reached 104,328 units, 0.3 percent up, year-on-year. Mexican exports of autos in February totaled 266,035 units, 1.8 percent down, year-on-year.

As for the accumulated two-month period from January to February, Mexican auto production slightly grew 0.06 percent, year-on-year, to 646,588 units.

Domestic sales of cars in the January-February period declined 2.94 percent, year-on-year, to 209,160 units. Mexican exports of vehicles in the two-month period was 494,219 units, 3.7 percent down, year-on-year.
