Mexican auto production declines in June

Mexican auto production in June declined 4.4 percent, year-on-year, to 337,253 units, local automotive industry association (AMIA) said.

Domestic sales of vehicles in June decreased 11.4 percent, year-on-year, to 106,398 units. On the other hand, Mexican exports of autos in June rose 1.7 percent, year-on-year, to 320,470 units.

As for the first half (H1) of the year, Mexican auto output was 1.9 million units, 0.7 percent up, year-on-year. Mexican exports of autos in the six-month period grew 3.1 percent, year-on-year, to 1.7 million units, while domestic sales in the same period fell 6.4 percent, year-on-year, to 638,597 units.
