Mexican auto production and exports increase in March and Q1

Mexican auto production in March rose 4.8 percent, year-on-year, to 346,873 units, local automotive industry association (AMIA) said.

Mexican exports of vehicles in March improved 2 percent, year-on-year, to 323,631 units, while domestic sales of autos in the same period dropped 1.5 percent, year-on-year, to 117,122 units.

Mexican auto output in Q1 reached 992,383 units, 3 percent up, year-on-year. Mexican exports of autos in Q1 grew 2.1 percent, year-on-year, to 837,005 units. On the other hand, domestic sales of autos in Q1 decreased 1.7 percent, year-on-year, to 332,013 units.
