LNM will make an offer for Romanian plants

The Romania's seamless steel pipe producer Petrotub and longs producer Siderurgica are up for privatisation, and it seems that LNM will make an offer for the companies. Deadline for the bidders in the privatisation process of the two companies has been set as August 4, by the Romania's privatisation agency Apaps. However, LNM stated that they will submit an offer before this date. Furthermore, LNM already owns Ispat Sidex in Romania which was acquired in November 2001. Conares Trading, part of Russian steel mill Mechel, also showed an interest on the privatisation of Petrotub. The company also owns two plants in Romania.
