Ken Leonard of Insteel Industries passes away

SteelOrbis has learned that a friend to many in the steel and wire community, Ken Leonard of Insteel Industries Inc., passed away this morning from a heart attack.

He is survived by his wife Rita, two daughters, two sons in law, and two grandchildren.

Insteel Industries President, CEO and Director, H.O. Woltz III, commented on his friend and colleague's passing: "I worked with him for nearly 30 years and never once witnessed him give less than 100 percent and never once saw anything other than the highest degree of professionalism and integrity from him."

Ken worked for Insteel for over 30 years having begun as Internal Auditor and advanced to head the company's welded wire reinforcing operating division before moving to his most recent position which was Vice President of Sourcing and Logistics.

His integrity and personable style won him wide respect in the industry. Friends say that Ken was an exemplary person both in his professional and personal lives.
