Kardemir to invest in new concaster to increase crude steel output

Turkish integrated long steel producer Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. (Kardemir) has announced that, to increase its crude steel production capacity from the current production capacity of 2.4 million mt to 3.5 million mt, it has decided to invest in a new continuous casting machine. Kardemir plans to determine the plantmaker company which will supply the new continuous casting machine No. 4 by the end of November this year and plans to complete the installation of the new equipment within 16 months.

Meanwhile, Kardemir also stated that, to increase its crude steel production to 3.5 million mt, it will also raise the capacity of its converters No.1 and No. 2 to 120 mt from 90 mt.
