JMC Steel Group sent a letter to customers Tuesday indicating that it has entered into an agreement with pipe and tube manufacturer Atkore International to purchase the assets of Allied Tube and Conduit's Morrisville, Pennsylvania manufacturing facility. According to the letter, JMC does not plan on operating the facility, which produced hollow structural section (HSS) and A-53 Grade B standard pipe, but JMC will integrate some of the Pennsylvania mill's equipment into its existing facilities.

JMC also said that since its Atlas Tube and Wheatland Tube facilities have the capability to provide all the products manufactured at that Atkore plant, any transition issues will be "seamless."
