According to the data released by the Japan Ship Exporters' Association (JSEA), Japanese new ship export orders in June this year rose by 12.5 percent on tonnage basis compared to the previous month, increasing to eight ships, compared to six ships recorded in May, totaling 342,200 gross tons, including five bulk carriers, two tankers and a general cargo ship.
In the first six months of this year, Japanese shipbuilders received new export orders for a total of 66 ships with an aggregate of 2.94 million gross tons, down 38.2 percent year on year.
On the other hand, in June this year Japan delivered 38 ships for export, totaling 1,825,279 gross tons, compared to 15 ships totaling 605,298 gross tons recorded in May.
Meanwhile, in the first half of the current year, Japan delivered 166 ships for export, totaling 7,769,715 gross tons, rising by 13.5 percent year on year.
