In the given month, 68.9 percent of shipments were made to the domestic market, while the remaining 31.1 percent were made to the export markets. In the given month, Japan’s hot rolled plate and sheet production amounted to 715,797 mt, increasing by 0.1 percent month on month and down by 5.2 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in May Japan’s hot rolled strip shipments amounted to 1.51 million mt, moving up by 13.2 percent from the previous month and increasing by 2.8 percent year on year. 17.7 percent of shipments were made to the domestic market, while the remaining 82.3 percent were made to the export markets. In the given month, Japan’s hot rolled strip production amounted to 1.51 million mt, up by 15.1 percent month on month and down by 3.3 percent year on year.
