The Russian steelmaker Severstal has announced that its pipe producing subsidiary Izhora Pipe Plant (Izhora) has successfully completed the certification procedure for compliance of its products with the Det Norske Veritas (DNV) offshore pipeline quality standards.

The completion of the DNV standard accreditation is in line with Izhora's strategy of being a multi-purpose supplier of pipes for oil and gas pipelines.

Izhora is Russia's only producer of large-diameter pipes up to 18.3 meters in length and is scheduled to be running at full capacity in 2008. In 2007, the plant is planning to produce 375,000 metric tons of pipes.
