Iran’s semi-finished steel output up four percent in March 21-May 21

Iranian steelmaking companies have continued to strengthen its positions, supported by solid demand from Asian customers, in particular.

According to the Iranian Steel Producers Association, in the first two months (March 21-May 21, 2020) of the current Iranian year Iran’s semi-finished product output increased by four percent year on year to 4.7 million mt. However, while production of slabs in the given period rose by 13 percent to 1.996 million mt, the output of billets and blooms decreased by four percent to 2.7 million mt, respectively, both year on year, SteelOrbis has learned.
