Khouzestan Steel increases semi-finished steel output by 14 percent

Iranian steelmaker Khouzestan Steel produced 1.64 million mt of semi-finished steel (billet, bloom and slab) in the first seven months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), representing an increase of 14 percent compared to the same period of the last Iranian year - according to the newly published data from the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

By the end of the current Iranian year, Khouzestan Steel expects to achieve an output of 2.85 million metric tons of semi-finished steel.

Khouzestan Steel has raised its output steadily since it upgraded some of its steelmaking equipment and started running its new DRI module, Zam Zam II, in 2009.
