India’s leading passenger car producers report lower February sales

India’s leading passenger car manufacturers have reported lower sales for February this year.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the largest passenger car manufacturer in terms of domestic market share, has reported 1.1 percent lower sales during the month at 147,110 units, compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.

The second largest domestic passenger car manufacturer, Hyundai India Limited, has reported a 10.3 percent decrease year on year in sales to 49,910 units.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s passenger car sales in February totaled 32,476 units, down 42 percent year on year. Honda Cars India Limited’s sales were down 46.26 percent year on year to 7,269 units. Tata Motors Limited has reported car sales of 38,002 units, down 34 percent from the corresponding month of the previous year.
