Indian passenger car manufacturers reported a mixed trend in sales growth (dispatches from factory to dealers) in March this year, but with a pessimistic outlook, data released by leading automobile companies showed on Monday, April 3.
The largest passenger car maker in terms of market share, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), reported sales of 132,763 units in March, a marginal decline of 0.8 percent from the corresponding month of the previous year.
Kia India Limited reported sales of 21,501 units, a decline of five percent, while the second largest passenger car maker Hyundai Motors India Limited reported sales of 50,600 units, a rise of 13 percent, year on year.
Toyota Kirloskar Limited reported sales of 18,670 units, up nine percent, while Tata Motors Limited reported sales of 44,225 units by its passenger car division, up four percent year on year.
