Indian passenger car retail sales rise by 4.31 percent in May

Indian passenger car retail sales as denoted by new registrations were recorded at 298,873 units in May this year, up 4.31 percent year on year, according to data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers’ Association (FADA) on Tuesday, June 6.

Retail sales of automobiles across all product categories were recorded at 2,019,414 units, up 10.14 percent, the FADA data showed.

Commercial vehicle sales were recorded at 77,135 units, up 7.19 percent, two-wheeler sales at 1,493,234 units, up 9.32 percent, and three-wheeler sakes at 79,434 units, up 78.57 percent, year on year.
