Indian passenger car markers achieve double-digit sales in April 2026

Indian passenger car sales, as denoted by dispatches from manufacturers to dealers, showed robust double-digit growth in April 2026, compilation of data released by companies showed on Tuesday, May 5.

The largest passenger car maker in terms of market share, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, (MSIL) reported sales of 187,704 units in April 2026, a rise of 35 percent, while Tata Motors Limited sold 59,000 units, up 30 percent, year on year.

Mahindra & Mahindra reported sales of 56,331 units, a rise of eight percent, and Toyota Kirloskar Motors Limited sold 30,159 units, up 21 percent, year on year. Nissan India Limited achieved sales of 3,203 units, up 46 percent, Hyundai Motors India Limited sold 51,902 units, a rise of 17 percent, Kia Motors Limited reported sales of 27,286 units, up 16 percent, while Renault sold 5,413 units, a rise of 108 percent, all year on year. In addition, Honda Motors Limited sold 4,069 units in April 2026, up 21 percent year on year.
