Indian passenger car manufacturers reported robust sales (dispatches to dealers) in October this year, data released by the major automobile companies showed on Thursday, November 2.
The largest passenger car manufacturer in terms of market share, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), reported sales of 199,217 units in October, double the number of units sold in the corresponding month of 2022.
The second-largest passenger car maker, Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL), reported sales of 68,728 units in October, up 18.5 percent, while Tata Motors Limited achieved sales of 80,825 units, up six percent, both year on year.
Honda Motors India Limited sold 13,083 units, a rise of 17 percent, and Mahindra & Mahindra reported sales of 80,679 units, up 32 percent, year on year.
MG Motors reported sales of 5,108 units, up 17 percent, while Toyota Kirloskar Motors Limited sold 21,879 units, a rise of 66 percent over October 2022.
