Indian iron ore production by region

According to India’s iron ore production data, the Odisha region produces roughly 50 percent of the national iron ore production. For 2017, Odisha’s production is estimated at 50.4 percent of the full-year total while, Chhattisgarh contributes 16.6 percent, Karnataka 14.6 percent, Jharkhand 10.2 percent, Goa 5.5 percent and other regions 2.6 percent.

In 2013, Odisha contributed 45.7 percent of the total production, dipped to 40.3 percent in 2014, regained ground to 44.7 percent in 2015, contributed 53.1 percent of the total in 2016 and is expected to provide 50.4 percent of production in 2017.
